I could not agree more I’m forty years old and I still love building creations with LEGO’s. I found it really brings back great childhood moments. I spent years without using them. Then one day I spent an afternoon with my nephew building some really great stuff. The next thing I knew I was purchasing and building on my own. That enjoyment and escape had returned.

Was there a key trigger that ignited your passion or was it something you have always done? Just curious…

It’s not just for kids though…

No it isn’t as my hubby can play with it for hours but then he did miss out as a kid as Lego was far too expensive in North Africa for ordinary kids to play with it. My sons love it though as between them they can make fantastic creations. Congrats on getting your stuff back from the thief.

Unbelievable, but I’m glad it worked out well, more or less, in the end. It’s been a while since I used LEGO, but it was my FAVORITE toy as a kid. I would have been heartbroken if my creations and LEGO collection was stolen. Kids build up their LEGO supply over years – every Christmas and birthday we looked forward to another addition to your buckets of LEGO.

Hi Guys,
Thanks. Yes, it was a shock. But we’re all encouraged and grateful for the community’s response and support, and that almost all of it was recovered in various states of disrepair. Most of the train MOCs were shown at BBtB, and hopefully the SF Waterfront buildings at either NMRA or MoAH later this year.

Yes David, someone would steal LEGO. There are people who are amazed with this kind of things just like the one who developed it. It wouldn’t sell in the first place if it won’t interest the consumers. I even dreamed to have one but it’s expensive.

Someone actually stole LEGO? That is unbelievable. I guess some poeple will steal anything if it isn’t bolted down.

Those cars are not sold by LEGO as such. I believe they are based on a design by James Mathis. The locomotive was sold by LEGO a few years ago but has been discontinued, and the version at the MOAH display was customized anyway. Most of the stuff in our layouts is either designed by one of our club members, or by someone like James Mathis who has made a lot of his designs available online.
