Someone call ILM, we need some special effects...

Selecting a bright red color and a large brush size, I carefully added color to the area surrounding the red light in the model. By changing the opacity, we can slowly and carefully give the area a red hue to simulate the lighting effect the red bulb would have if it was actually lit dimly.

We also use the lighten mode to make the area lighter.

By careful application of the brush, we add color to the exhaust of the engines by using white and a little yellow. I used low opacity settings and combinations of Color and Lighten mode. You can really see the effect of the blurred background behind the engines. This really adds to the image. You will note that we also added a contrail from the tail by drawing with a low opacity value.
The final result. Much more interesting than the image that we started out with. The lighting effect is very subtle, but works pretty well.
