Miscellaneous

What's New as of 10/28/2000?

I've done a lot of work and added some new sections off of the ADPolice page. I have a new NEOTokyo section that contains some images of two city blocks that have been languishing on my computer for 2 months. I also have added a new page for the Police Patrol Vehicle, and the Black Widow Autonomous Walker. My photography site was also voted cool site of the week for Sept 3-9.

Coming soon:

I have a larger 6 legged walker and a Police assault Helicopter that I have photographed, but need to edit images of and make pages for. I also have a police station that is mostly finished. That web page will be very elaborate, so it will be a bit farther out.

Previously:

I've been working hard on my new ADPolice area. It's coming along very well and there's much more to come... both stuff under construction, and stuff that I've photographed, but not had time to make pages for.

First off, I got a new digital camera, a Nikon CoolPix 990. It's an excellent camera, and takes amazing macro pictures of my favorite lego creations. As you can see, the quality of photographs on my pages have increased dramatically.

I've redone the interface of the ADPolice section and added two new vehicles to my pages: the "Gods Eye" V-Tol and the MA70 Armored Personnel Carrier. I've also added new index pages for the Tank Police page and the Armored Mobile Police Division Page.

This is all very art intensive. These images take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour to color correct, and manipulate in photoshop. Most feature background enhancement, digital decal application, and lighting and environmental effects. This of course is not counting the time it takes to make thumbnails, and optimize the images for file size. I plan on adding to my photographic tip section to cover this new work, because I've really learned a lot that I would like to share.

Tips for Photographing Lego Models

Photographing Lego Models can be quite challenging. Certain colors, especially black, can be very difficult to photograph. Also because of scale, it can be very difficult to get the right angle for the desired shot.
