Alcon Model 1129 Mobile Rail System

The Alcon Robotics Corporation Model 1187 is designed around a pair of Quasar JP5 heavy railguns. This formidable weapon system is capable of punching depleted 120 mm uranium shells at supersonic speeds through 26 meters of hardened steel at a range of .75 kilometers. The tremendous magnetic propulsion mechanism used to accomplish this feat is capable of a range of 3-4 km without sacrificing accuracy, but velocity is somewhat sacrificed.

These two railguns may fire simultaneously or individually, at a rate of once per second. Additional armament includes two 1 MegaWatt short range lasers and a high volume flame-thrower that shoots a sticky incendiary petroleum-based gas.

At 28 metric tons, the 1129 is much lighter than its sibling the "Archer". As a result, it is much quicker and more agile. This comes at the sacrifice of strength and armor thickness. The ceramic composite armor is excellent at dissapating heat and the mech is naturally completely fireproof, cabable of withstanding up to 2000 degrees Kelvin of heat.

Slightly more reliable than its siblings, the 1129 is the mainstay of the 86th division. With an excellent mix of long and short range weapons, the platform is extremely flexible and suitable for many multi-purpose roles. Its railguns are capable of crippling vehicles, punching through armored bulkheads, and destroying buildings, while its lasers and flamethrowers are well suited to anti-personnel supression.

The flamethrower uses a petroleum fuel mixed with a chemical compound that is designed to bond to metal and plastics and airate the fuel allowing it to burn at a high temperature even in low oxygen environments.

The SRD-1 lasers are similar in design to the SRS lasers on the 1187, but are lower powered. They are designed to cut through the skin of inflammable vehicles and barriers exposing the more flammable interior.

The 1129 has an excellent sensor array and fire control system, but it is unable to fire on fast moving air targets. This may neccesitate support from other vehicles to offset this vulnerability.
