"Torch" and "Rutger" on display in the Alcon Showroom in Upper Boston

Alcon Model 1240 Mobile Assault Platform

The Model 1240 "Rutger" mech is the fastest of the mechs produced by Alcon Robotics Corporation. Over twice as fast as the 1187 "Archer", the 1240 is capable of extreme burst of speed and leaps up to 50 meters high. Designed primarily for close range firefights, the "Rutger" is equipped with a twin .90 calibre auto cannon capable of unleashing a barrage of 200,000 rounds of armor piercing munition per minute.

The firing control system can automatically track moving targets even when the mech is in fast motion and the two high power lasers can independently engage an elusive target. Additional armament includes a CoreArms UMX plasma taser system that can immobilize aggressors in a 10 by 5 meter area without causing permanent physical harm.

At a weight of only 22 metric tons, the Rutger is the lightest of all of Alcon's mechanised armored line and also the fastest. It's fission reactor provides a tremendous amount of power in a very small package but requires a slightly more frequent service interval. Additionally, the lighter armor is more succeptable to damage from heavy weapons.
