LEGOLAND Carlsbad Annual Pass Information, provided by Gary Louie. You can buy single-day tickets through Shop@Home (800-835-4386, $35/adult) as well! Since first-day access will be limited, you may want to buy tickets early, to avoid the ticket buyers line at the park on Opening Day. (Gary died February 6, 1999.)
A number of folks from the S.F. Bay Area went to Carlsbad for the Grand Opening, and spent the day in the park, and had an evening get-together to show-and-tell, swapped parts and traded stories and instruction books. You can browse some of the pictures at the URLs below:

Carlsbad Town InfoAccording to the LEGOLAND California pages "LEGOLAND is about 30 minutes north of San Diego in the seaside community of Carlsbad. Take the Cannon Road exit off Interstate-5 and head east to LEGOLAND Drive!"

Another good Map site is Yahoo! Maps. You can get an instant map showing LEGOLAND or a route planner with the LEGOLAND address filled in! Add your address to get a route map to LEGOLAND.
If you'll be flying into Palomar Airport, check the In Carlsbad Flight Information for American Eagle and United Express flight schedules. These shuttle flights come from Los Angeles International (LAX). American currently has 5 flights daily,and United has 7 flights daily.
If you will be driving, don't forget to check the Caltrans Highway Information website.

Reservations are still possible for the Motel 6 "across the street" from LEGOLand (as of 12/1/98). Its actually about 0.5 miles from the park, and you need to cross under the freeway (see this map). They do not give a CSAA discount, but they do give an unspecified AARP discount. Room rates were quoted as being 45.99 (plus tax) per night, for two adults. There is a $3.00 additional charge for an additional person in the room, per night.
